Job summary

Triton Regional School District is seeking a Middle School Drama Club Advisor for Triton Regional Middle School in Byfield, MA. The role is an after-school/evening position with a $1,629 stipend and reports to the Principal or designee.

Qualified candidates will be certified educators or have relevant theater/arts experience, with strong leadership and communication skills and a commitment to an inclusive, student-centered program. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all Drama Club activities including the One-Act Play and participation in ME Guild.
• Establish a schedule of meetings, rehearsals, and performances with school administration.
• Select age-appropriate productions aligning with student interests and resources.
• Coordinate auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances with equitable opportunities.
• Provide guidance in acting, stage presence, public speaking, and other aspects of theatrical production.
• Supervise students during club meetings, rehearsals, and performances.
• Coordinate production needs (sets, costumes, props, lighting, sound, etc.).
• Work with school personnel, families, and community members to support productions.
• Communicate schedules, expectations, and events to students and families.
• Manage program resources and expenditures per district policies and budgets.
• Promote student leadership and teamwork throughout activities.
• Ensure adherence to school policies, safety procedures, and facility-use rules.
• Coordinate performance dates and publicity with administration.
• Maintain records of participation and activities, including fundraising.

• The Principal may find alternatives to the above qualifications that are appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Principal or their designee

Performance Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all activities associated with the Middle School Drama Club, including the One-Act Play and participation in the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild.
• Establish a schedule of meetings, rehearsals, and performances in coordination with school administration.
• Select age-appropriate productions and activities that align with student interests, abilities, and available resources.
• Coordinate auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances while ensuring equitable opportunities for student participation.
• Provide guidance and instruction in acting, stage presence, public speaking, and other aspects of theatrical production.
• Supervise students during all club meetings, rehearsals, performances, and related activities.
• Coordinate production needs, including sets, costumes, props, lighting, sound, and other technical elements.
• Work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and community members to support successful productions.
• Communicate regularly with students and families regarding schedules, expectations, and upcoming events.
• Manage program resources and expenditures in accordance with district policies and established budgets.
• Promote student leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and respect throughout all club activities.
• Ensure adherence to applicable school policies, safety procedures, and facility-use requirements.
• Coordinate with school administration regarding performance dates, facility needs, publicity, and other logistical considerations.
• Maintain appropriate records of student participation and program activities, including any approved fundraising activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Designee.
