Qualifications

We are currently searching for an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Collecting and analyzing data for project plans and reports
  • Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems
  • Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation improvement projects
  • Permitting with different regulatory and water management agencies
  • Assisting and preparing project plans using OpenRoads Designer
  • Contributing to the preparation and modification of engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
  • Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates, and specifications
  • Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, calculations, and drawings for compliance
  • Preparing and assisting with project schedules
  • Collaborating across disciplines, subconsultants, and professionals to deliver quality projects within budget and schedule
  • Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior staff
  • Performing other professional, management, marketing, and networking duties as assigned
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s in water resources fields a plus)
  • Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) or the ability to acquire it within 6 months
  • 4-6 years of relevant drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Storm CAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS, and/or SUDA software
  • Previous TxDOT drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
