Job summary

Galloway & Company, Inc. is seeking a Drainage Engineer to support planning, analysis, and design of drainage and stormwater systems across a variety of land development project types.

You will apply advanced hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles to develop practical, technically sound solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engineering designs. Estimated starting salary is between $95,000 and $119,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license or eligibility to take the PE exam within six months of hire is required.
• Experience in drainage design and hydraulic/hydrologic analyses for civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience applying local agency and DOT drainage design standards for closed pipe systems, open channels, and water quality design.
• Proficiency with CUHP, SWMM, HY-8, FlowMaster, StormCAD, and related drainage analysis tools.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills to prepare engineering documentation and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software including CUHP, SWMM, HY-8, FlowMaster, StormCAD, and related tools.
• Design stormwater conveyance systems, detention facilities, culverts, open channels, and water quality/LID facilities.
• Develop engineering calculations, evaluate design alternatives, and provide technical recommendations with sound engineering judgment.
• Prepare drainage reports, stormwater management plans, and technical memoranda specifications.
• Produce and review drainage plan sheets, profiles, details, and exhibits communicating design intent.
