We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Drainage Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of critical water resource projects. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in stormwater management and a passion for creating sustainable infrastructure that supports community resilience and regulatory compliance.
As a Drainage Engineer, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on public and private sector projects, providing expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic design, permitting, and construction support. You’ll play a key role in developing technical solutions that ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound drainage systems across Florida.
What You’ll Do:
Design stormwater and drainage systems, including grading, storm sewer layout, and drainage area analysis.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for stormwater modeling and conveyance design.
Prepare drainage reports, permit applications, and construction documents in compliance with agency requirements (FDOT, counties, cities, water management districts).
Review site conditions and permits to inform system design and ensure compliance.
Coordinate with architects, geotechnical engineers, landscape designers, and other subconsultants.
Assist in developing scopes, budgets, and schedules for upcoming projects.
Oversee junior staff and contribute to quality control of design deliverables.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
4–8 years of experience in water resources or stormwater design.
Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation design software.
Strong collaboration skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
This position is designed for professionals aiming to grow into leadership roles, and accordingly offers compensation well above industry averages. The annual salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
