Job summary

Intelligent Service is seeking a Drain Technician to clear lines across the northern Chicago suburbs. You will rod and hydro jet drains—from sinks to main sewer lines—using rodding machines and our hydro jetter.

After restoring flow, you hand off to the Lead Technician for a camera inspection to diagnose the cause. A bonus is earned for every lead you set, with pay ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience rodding drains (residential or commercial).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Hydro jetting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clear blockages using rodding machines from sinks to main sewer lines.
• Operate hydro jetter to remove grease, roots, and scale.
• Determine the appropriate cable/machine, clear the line, and test for proper flow.
• Coordinate with Lead Technician for camera inspection and diagnosis after flow restoration.

$50,000-$100,000 per year (based on experience and performance) + lead-set bonuses

The Job

We're looking for a drain technician who knows how to clear a line. You'll run service calls across the northern Chicago suburbs clearing blockages with rodding machines - everything from sink and tub lines to main sewer lines - and running our hydro jetter to clean out grease, roots, and scale.

A typical day looks like this: you get your dispatched calls, head to the customer's home or business, figure out where the line is backed up, pick the right machine and cable for the job, clear it, and test it. Once the line is flowing, you set the customer up with a follow-up appointment for our Lead Technician to camera the line and find out what caused the backup - and you earn a bonus for every lead you set. You clear it, they diagnose it, you get paid for the handoff. No camera work or sales pressure on your plate; your job is getting the water moving and leaving the place cleaner than you found it.

Some days it's six quick kitchen lines. Some days it's one stubborn main. Either way, you're the one who gets their water flowing again - and customers remember that.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday. Steady hours, steady paycheck.

What You Need

• 1+ year of experience rodding drains (residential or commercial)
• Valid driver's license

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Hydro jetting experience
• Drain installation or excavation experience (backhoe/skid steer)
• Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar dispatch software
