Job summary

Jake’s Heating, Air & Plumbing is seeking an experienced Drain Technician who can diagnose problems, perform drain cleaning, and deliver exceptional customer service in residential settings.

You will handle sewer camera inspections, recommend proper repairs or replacements, and work with our plumbing and sewer teams. We provide tools, support, and a steady call volume to help you grow with our expanding drain and sewer team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential drain cleaning, sewer diagnostics, or plumbing service.
• Experience operating drain cleaning machines and sewer inspection cameras.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify the root cause of drain and sewer problems.
• Confidence explaining findings, presenting solutions, and communicating with homeowners.
• A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently, manage service calls, and stay productive throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & troubleshoot residential drain and sewer issues.
• Drain cleaning with cable machines and hydro jetting equipment when applicable.
• Camera inspections to identify blockages and pipe damage.
• Recommend appropriate repairs, replacements, or services.
• Perform drain and plumbing repairs within your experience and qualifications.

• Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles; follow safety procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose & Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve residential drain and sewer issues, including clogged drains, sewer backups, and damaged lines.
• Drain Cleaning: Safely and effectively operate professional drain cleaning equipment, including cable machines and hydro jetting equipment when applicable.
• Camera Inspections: Perform sewer camera inspections to identify blockages, root intrusion, pipe damage, and other underlying issues.
• Recommend Solutions: Clearly explain findings and recommend appropriate repairs, replacements, or additional services.
• Perform Repairs: Complete drain and plumbing repairs within your experience and qualifications.
• Deliver Great Customer Service: Communicate professionally with homeowners, explain service options, and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Maintain Equipment: Properly care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles while following safety procedures.
• Stay Organized: Accurately document service calls, findings, recommendations, and completed work.
• Work as a Team: Collaborate with plumbing service, sewer sales, and installation teams to ensure customers receive the right solutions.
• Be Available: Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service when scheduled.
