Overview
BRDG Studios connects visionary brands with their audiences by creating unforgettable experiences that seamlessly blend the digital and physical worlds. Our team of designers, fabricators, creative technologists, and innovators works under one roof to move bold ideas from concept to reality – with speed, precision, and craft.
We’re looking for a Draftsperson who is excited to turn creative ideas into things that can actually be built.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our designers, engineers, and fabrication team to develop clear, accurate, and buildable drawings. You’ll help translate concepts into detailed plans, elevations, sections, assemblies, and shop drawings – learning how materials, hardware, fabrication methods, and technology come together in the real world.
What You’ll Do
Technical Documentation
- Drawing Sets: Develop 2D and 3D drawings including floor plans, sections, elevations, details, and basic assemblies.
- Shop Drawings: Create clear, accurate production drawings with dimensions, material callouts, hardware, finishes, and other relevant details.
- Design Development: Work with senior designers and engineers to develop creative concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
- Drafting Standards: Follow and contribute to BRDG’s drafting standards, templates, and detail libraries.
- Revisions: Incorporate design and fabrication feedback and maintain organized drawing revisions and documentation.
Digital Fabrication
- CNC & CAM: Prepare CAD files for CNC routing and other digital fabrication processes with guidance from the design engineering team.
- 3D Modeling: Create accurate 3D models and components for design development, coordination, and fabrication.
- File Preparation: Organize and prepare files for CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing, and other fabrication methods as projects require.
- Material Awareness: Develop an understanding of how different materials and fabrication techniques affect design and construction.
Fabrication & Production Support
- Shop Collaboration: Work directly with our fabrication team to understand how drawings translate to physical construction.
- Problem Solving: Help identify clashes, construction challenges, and missing information before work reaches the shop floor.
- Field Conditions: Assist with interpreting site measurements and incorporating field-verified dimensions into drawings.
- Design Refinement: Help develop practical solutions when designs need to change based on materials, fabrication methods, budget, or site conditions.
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of professional experience in drafting, architecture, exhibit design, experiential design, millwork, fabrication, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in technical drawing, dimensioning, scale, and spatial understanding.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD and/or 3D modeling software.
- An interest in fabrication, materials, construction, and how things are built.
- The ability to read and understand architectural drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing clean, organized work.
- A willingness to ask questions, learn from experienced designers and fabricators, and improve your technical skills.
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
- A portfolio or examples of work demonstrating drafting, 3D modeling, technical documentation, or fabrication-related work.
