Job summary

Structures, an Austin‑based structural engineering design firm, seeks an experienced Drafting / BIM Technician to join our team. Positioned at an intermediate level, you will leverage your structural Revit expertise across diverse building projects and work closely with engineers and project managers to translate concepts into precise BIM models and construction documents.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• BIM & CAD execution: design, detail, and coordinate structural models; layouts and assemblies in Revit.
• Document delivery: produce accurate, high‑quality construction documents per firm standards.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with engineers and PMs to gather requirements and coordinate redlines.
• Collective accountability: ensure drawings are organized and meet client deliverables on schedule.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Drafting / BIM Technician to join our team. Positioned at an intermediate level, this role is designed for a self-motivated technician who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes pride in technical accuracy, and wants to leverage their structural Revit expertise across exciting building projects.

You will work closely with our engineers and project managers to translate structural concepts into precise, detailed, and fully coordinated BIM models and construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• BIM & CAD Execution: Prepare, design, and detail structural models, layouts, and assemblies for varied project types using Revit.
• Document Delivery: Develop accurate, high-quality, and complete structural construction documents in accordance with firm standards and project milestones.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with engineers and project managers to gather project requirements, coordinate redlines, and ensure drawings meet precise specifications.
• Collective Accountability: Actively participate in project workflows, ensuring drawings are well-organized and hit client deliverables on schedule.

What We Are Looking For

• Technical Experience: Proficient in Revit with a minimum of three (3) years of practical structural Revit experience.
• Material Knowledge: Demonstrated familiarity with structural systems and diverse building materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, etc.).
• Construction Documentation: Proven track record assembling complete, multi-sheet structural construction document packages with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communication & Reliability: Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to managing your time across multiple concurrent projects.
