Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Drafter to join our drafting team. You will learn and process engineering change requests, specify dimensions, documents parts with 3D models, and create detailed manufacturing drawings.

You will also build SAP BOM reports and participate in quality initiatives. Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in drafting, with preferred Bachelor’s in engineering technology and CAD/GD&T experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in mechanical/electrical drafting or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology is preferred.
• Experience with CAD tools and GD&T is expected.
• Familiarity with drafting standards (ANSI) is required.

What Will You Do?

What Do You Need?

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting, Drafting Design, Electronics and Electrical/Mechanical Technology required.
• Bachelor’s Degree with engineering technology related disciplines preferred.
• Drafter I: 0-2 years of experience with associate’s degree
• Drafter II: 2+ years of experience with associate’s otherwise four (4) plus years related experience.
• Basic understanding of industry drafting standards (ANSI).
• Responsible for adhering to product Drafting Standards and Procedures.
• Understand the application of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with CAD software preferred.
• Ability to technically communicate with Designers and Engineers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily office-based with regular interaction in a shop/lab environment supporting equipment diagnostics and validation.
• Exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment, including moving machinery and powered vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment with competing priorities, high customer interaction, and occasional escalations.
• Minimal travel may be required (training or field support).
• Standard work schedule may include extended hours, or overtime based on customer demand.
• Frequent use of computer systems.

Competitive Salary

Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $25.16/hr. - $35/hr. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
