Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers seeks a Drafter/Designer in Tulsa, OK to translate design specifications into detailed 2D and 3D drawings and bill of materials for proposal presentations, fabrication, and machining.

You will create technical drawings and 3D models, revise existing drawings, maintain records, and prepare BOMs while adhering to drafting and engineering standards. Some travel to facilities and rig locations is required; collaboration in a team environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate design specifications from engineers into detailed working diagrams using CAD technologies.
• Create technical drawings and 3D digital models from data provided by the engineering team.
• Revise existing engineering drawings from sketches or layouts.
• Maintain accurate drawing records and drafting tasks.
• Prepare bill of materials for assigned designs.
• Review drawings for completeness and accuracy as required.
• Willing to learn drilling rig equipment to develop domain knowledge as an independent designer.
• Develop and revise drawings adhering to Company Drafting and Engineering Standards.
• Some travel to fabrication facilities, assembly facilities, and rig locations.

Drafter/Designer

Location: Tulsa, Ok

Description:

The Drafter/Designer is responsible for preparing layouts, general arrangement and detailed drawings, in both 2D and 3D applications, with bill of materials for proposal presentations, equipment fabrication and machining.

What you will do:

• Translate design specifications from engineers into detailed working diagrams of electrical, structural, or mechanical equipment using CAD technology
• Create technical drawings and 3D digital models, using measurements, specifications, and data from the engineering team
• Revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts
• Maintain accurate drawing records and drafting tasks
• Prepare bill of materials for assigned designs
• Review drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required
• Willing to learn about drilling rig equipment to develop domain knowledge and become an effective independent Designer
• Develop and revise drawings while adhering to Company Drafting standards and Company Engineering Standards & Guidelines
• Some travel required to fabrication facilities, assembly facilities, and rig locations

What you will need:

• Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a drafter or similar role
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software, SolidWorks, Autodesk Vault, Inventor or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of structural and piping detailing and electrical/controls drafting is preferred
• Strong mathematical capabilities and mechanical/electrical aptitude
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent interpersonal, professional, and technical communication skills while working in a team atmosphere
