Job summary

Actalent is seeking a skilled Drafter/Designer to create, revise, and maintain 3D models, part and assembly drawings using SolidWorks on the Glendale, CA manufacturing floor. The role focuses on producing detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, notes, and material specs.

You will develop BOMs and documentation, interpret sketches and verbal instructions, support ECRs/ECOs, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to ensure accuracy and conformance with

• Experience in manufacturing engineering and aerospace industry.
• Ability to create work instructions and interpret engineering sketches and specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models, part drawings, and assembly drawings in SolidWorks.
• Generate detailed manufacturing drawings with precise dimensions, tolerances, notes, and material specifications.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated product documentation.
• Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions for design documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles and drafting standards to define manufacturing and inspection requirements.
• Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve design and documentation issues.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with company standards.
• Organize and maintain CAD files and revision-controlled documentation within the product data management system.
• Support prototype development, testing activities, and production implementation.

The work environment is primarily on the manufacturing/production floor. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in design and documentation processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
