Job summary

Actalent is seeking a skilled Drafter/Designer to create, revise, and maintain 3D models, part drawings, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks on the Glendale, CA production floor.

You will generate detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T, maintain BOMs, and support engineering change processes, prototype development, and production implementation. This onsite role is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SolidWorks for design and drafting.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering and aerospace industry.
• Ability to create work instructions and interpret engineering sketches and specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models, part drawings, and assembly drawings in SolidWorks.
• Generate detailed manufacturing drawings with precise dimensions, tolerances, notes, and material specifications.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated product documentation.
• Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions for design documentation.
• Apply GD&T and drafting standards to define manufacturing and inspection requirements.
• Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve design and documentation issues.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with company standards.
• Organize and maintain CAD files and revision-controlled documentation within the product data management system.
• Support prototype development, testing activities, and production implementation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
