SAIC in North Charleston, SC is seeking a self-motivated Drafter / CAD Operator III to supply design and drafting support for CANES team. You will help create assembly models and drawings and prepare Technical Data Packages (TDPs) in line with ASME and DoD drawing standards.

The role requires 2+ years with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software and AutoCAD, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

SAIC is seeking a self-motivated and efficient Drafter / CAD Operator III for our CANES team in North Charleston, SC.

The Drafter / CAD Operator will be responsible for providing design and drafting support to complete assembly models and drawings.

The Drafter / CAD Operator will be an integral part of the team creating/updating Technical Data Packages (TDPs); being familiar with ASME standards, Technical Data Packages, and military drawing standards desired.

The Drafter / CAD Operator will coordinate frequently with the drafting team lead for current assignments, as well as coordinating with the project engineer(s), to meet the customer demands.

Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Adobe Pro is required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• High school education or equivalent (GED) and four (4) years related experience; OR Associates degree in related discipline and two (2) years related experience.
• Two (2) years minimum experience designing with SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling software, and AutoCAD.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Candidate must be a US Citizen. with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, Department of Defense (DoD) and industry documentation standards for Engineering and Design.
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical drawing creation and review.
• Strong technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticism.
