Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division in Greenwood, SC seeks a qualified Drafter to translate customer drawings and specifications for quotation and manufacturing. You will interact with order engineers, sales, and customers on job details such as on-board approvals and witness tests while coordinating technical guidance to production personnel.

The role involves producing and maintaining production drawings, supporting drafting workloads, and collaborating across functions to address design issues.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years of drafting, manufacturing, or industrial environment experience
• No immigration sponsorship or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT for this position
• Relocation assistance not offered; candidates within 50 miles of Greenwood, SC will be considered
• Travel up to 10% to support field measurements and customer troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing, providing expertise on product applications, performance, specifications, and design capabilities
• Maintain current knowledge of product engineering technologies, industry trends, competitor capabilities, and market conditions to support business objectives and customer needs
• Develop technical documentation, competitive analyses, product information, training materials, and customer presentations to enhance sales performance
• Advise COE, drafting, manufacturing, quality, and MOL teams on product design and engineering requirements
• Review and evaluate customer specifications and order documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Coordinate and assign engineering and drafting workloads; mentor new team members
• Provide production drawing support and respond to shop requests
• Collaborate on process improvements with cross-functional teams
• Back up drawing management and linkage processes for business continuity
• Represent engineering in cross-functional meetings to resolve customer concerns and quality issues
• Conduct customer and employee training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical presentations
• Perform related duties and continuous improvement activities

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Drafter. The position will be based at our facility in Greenwood, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What You’ll Do

Job Summary

Provide product application support with minimal direction to interpret customer drawings and specifications for quotation, manufacturing or related product; interact with order engineers, sales force, and customers on job specific details such as on-board approvals and witness tests, provide coordination for technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate; support order engineering and manufacturing for order related needs as well as customers and field sales personal with regard to product information and drawing details.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing, providing expertise on product applications, performance, specifications, and design capabilities.
• Maintain current knowledge of product engineering technologies, industry trends, competitor capabilities, and market conditions to support business objectives and customer needs.
• Support field sales efforts by developing technical documentation, competitive analyses, product information, training materials, and customer presentations to enhance sales performance.
• Act as a technical advisor to Customer Order Entry (COE), drafting, manufacturing, quality, and MOL teams by providing guidance on product design, engineering requirements, and order-related issues.
• Review and evaluate customer specifications and order documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper assignment, processing, and resolution of order-related activities, including special orders, turnbacks, and priority requests.
• Coordinate and assign engineering and drafting workloads while supporting drafting personnel through training, mentoring, and development of new team members.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by creating and maintaining production drawings, assisting with shop requests, and resolving complex product and design issues.
• Support system and design enhancement initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to address process improvements, technical requests, and operational challenges.
• Serve as backup support for drawing management, loading/linking processes, and other critical departmental functions to ensure business continuity.
• Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve customer concerns, quality issues, and technical challenges.
• Conduct customer and employee training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical presentations as needed.
• Perform other related duties, special projects, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum experience 3 years of experience in drafting, manufacturing, or industrial environment
