Job summary

Sunbelt Modular, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented drafter to generate complete and accurate file sets and prints based on written specs for customers, state agencies, and production.

Experience with building codes (IBC, IPC, IMC, NEC) is required. Under the drafting manager, you will draft customer sign-off drawings, address redlines, submit plans to the Project Coordinator, and back up the drafting manager when needed.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant work experience.
• Experience in modular manufacturing preferred.
• CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft project drawings for customer sign-off, state agencies, and production; update structural drawings.
• Partner with sales/research for project clarification.
• Submit complete plans to reviewer; address redlines and update as needed.
• Submit prints to Project Coordinator; revise prints per customer redlines; CAD updates.
• Process prints with corrections for final release; save CAD file of final release.
• Address questions from sales, purchasing and production.
• Backup drafting manager when they are out.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism.
• Provide outstanding service to internal and external clients.
• Report hours timely and accurately.
• Be detail oriented, well organized, and possess strong communication.

Description

Position Objective: Under the direction of the drafting manager, this individual is responsible for generating a complete and accurate file and prints based on written specifications for submission to customers, state agencies, and production. Experience in building code (IBC, IPC, IMC, NEC, etc.) is necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Draft project drawings including: working drawings for customer sign-off, state agencies, and production; miscellaneous details and drawings; updating structural standards; sales bid drawings
• Partner with sales/research for clarification on projects
• Submit complete and accurate plans to supervisor/plan checker for review
• Accurately address and incorporate redlines from plan review
• Submit plans for customer and state to Project Coordinator; revise prints per customer redlines; cloud modifications as needed
• Process complete and accurate prints including all necessary corrections for final release; save CAD file of completed project final release
• Address and respond to questions from sales, purchasing and production
• Other duties as assigned
• Acts as a backup to the drafting manager when they are out.

Job Requirements

• Ability to sit/stand at desk/workstation for prolonged periods of time
• Frequent use of hands/fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse; repetitive hand/wrist motions
• Ability to view and interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications; ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time; close up vision required for precision work
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with engineers, drafters, and internal customers
• Able to successfully pass a criminal background check (following a conditional offer of employment)
