Job summary

TEKsystems in Colorado Springs, CO seeks an experienced CAD drafter to produce and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings for electronics devices. You will maintain BOMs, notes, tolerances, and material callouts, ensuring producibility and compliance with engineering intent. Role requires DoD‑level standards familiarity and a Secret clearance.

Hybrid work setup in Colorado Springs with a project focus on aerospace manufacturing and data center environments.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma plus related experience in drafting for manufacturing or aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, scaling, sectioning and config control.
  • Must have a Secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings for electronics devices.
  • Generate and maintain bills of materials, drawing notes, tolerances, finish specs, and callouts.
  • Complete and refine major layout drawings and ensure producibility per engineering intent.
  • Propose design modifications to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality or cost.
  • Support teams with drawing clarifications, redlines, revisions, and controlled releases.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to company standards and drawing conventions.
  • Participate in peer reviews and audits, documenting findings and actions.
  • Assist in developing modeling processes aligned to enterprise requirements.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Produce and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings from layouts, references, and engineering input for electronics devices using CAD/CAM/CATIA tools.
  • Generate and maintain bills of materials, drawing notes, tolerances, finish specifications, and material callouts required for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Complete and refine major layout drawings prepared by others, applying standard drafting practices to ensure producibility and compliance with engineering intent.
  • Propose and document design modifications to improve part manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, or cost.
  • Support engineering and inspection teams by providing timely drawing clarifications, redlines, revisions, and controlled release of updated drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and deliverables adhere to company standards, configuration control processes, and applicable engineering/industry drawing conventions.
  • Conduct or support peer reviews, physical self‑audits, and formal CM/QA audits, ensuring all findings are documented and adjudicated.
  • Assist in developing modeling process which aligns to existing enterprise engineering requirements.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School and a minimum of 5 years additional education and/or related experience professional experience producing detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, scaling, sectioning, and configuration control practices, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have a Secret level clearance.

  • Familiar with DoD Programs.
  • Self‑motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with data centers.
  • Strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members.

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
