Mission

Reeves Construction Company is seeking an experienced Dozer Operator based in Savannah, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate tractor equipped with a concave blade to gouge out, level, and distribute earth, and clear land of trees and rocks for construction projects.
• Have basic knowledge of machine mechanics and hydraulics.
• Conduct inspection checklists on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Maintain equipment by servicing, lubricating, and ensuring good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Understand slope and grade stakes, including slope ratios, ditch depths, and fill heights.
• Operate the vehicle safely on job sites following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Qualifications: Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Candidates should have at least two years of bulldozer operation experience in a similar industry.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures; capable of writing routine reports.

Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: Climb onto and operate machinery multiple times daily, sit for extended periods, withstand site vibrations and noise, perform manual tasks, and lift up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise. Occasional exposure to high places and chemicals.
