Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking an experienced Dozer Operator to support heavy civil construction projects in the Kansas City area.

You will operate bulldozers, perform grading, site development, and earthwork tasks, and collaborate with foremen and other equipment operators to ensure accurate elevations and safe, productive work sites. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of dozer experience in heavy civil settings, familiarity with grade and slope control, and a willingness to travel between

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating dozers in heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of grade, slope, and elevation control.
• Experience working around GPS or grade control systems (preferred).
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to Kansas City job sites.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
• Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus.
• Preferred Experience Heavy highway, roadwork, or mass excavation projects.
• Experience working in team-driven, fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to travel as projects require.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozers (D6-D8 or similar) for rough and finish grading.
• Rough and finish grading, site prep and earthmoving tasks.
• Read grade stakes and project layouts; verify slopes and elevations.
• Work closely with foremen, grade checkers, and other equipment operators.
• Maintain proper slopes, grades, and elevations per project specs.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Follow ESS safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and productive.
• Assist with other equipment or labor tasks as needed.
