Job summary

Gray & Son Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate skid steers, end dumps, bulldozers, graders and excavators to excavate, move and grade earth. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered and safety is emphasized on every shift.

Responsibilities include grading, loading materials, performing daily maintenance, and supporting foremen during toolbox talks. Candidates must follow signals and work safely to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience operating skid steers, excavators, and other large earth-moving equipment.
• Ability to perform daily maintenance and safety checks.
• Familiar with hand signals and coordinating with crew.

Responsibilities

• Grade, excavate, and move materials safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily equipment walkarounds and checklists.
• Attend morning huddles and toolbox talks with foremen.
• Align and position machinery per stakes and signals.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, and equipment using appropriate machinery.

The Equipment Operator will operate one or several types of large power construction machinery, such as skid steer, end dump, bulldozers, graders, and excavators to excavate, move and grade earth.
Job Duties

• Able to grade excavate, move materials in a safe and productive manner.
• Complete daily maintenance, walk around and fill out checklist.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned as assigned by your Foreman or Superintendent.
• Align machines, cutter heads, or depth gauge makers with reference stakes and guidelines or ground, or position equipment following hand signals of other workers. Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using trucks, tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, and related equipment. Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, and rocks, and to distribute and level earth or terrain.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Other duties as assigned as assigned by your Foreman or Superintendent.
