Job summary

City of Howell is seeking an Executive Director for the Downtown Development Authority to drive economic growth, investment, and redevelopment in Downtown Howell. The role requires strategic vision and collaboration with the City, Main Street program, and private partners.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, oversee grants, and deliver measurable outcomes using data analytics, finance, and stakeholder engagement to strengthen the downtown district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in downtown management or non-profit roles.
• CMSM or Michigan Certified Economic Developer credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead economic development and business attraction efforts to fill storefront vacancies.
• Develop and manage the annual DDA budget and oversee TIF revenues.
• Create a Downtown Economic Dashboard and track key performance metrics.
• Collaborate with City staff, Main Street Inc., and stakeholders to advance initiatives.
