Job summary

Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive and strategic leader for downtown Cheyenne. You will guide organizational strategy, economic development coordination, partnerships, and communications to advance the Board’s vision for a vibrant downtown.

You will lead staff, manage contracts, ensure compliance, and promote public-private partnerships, while representing the DDA to diverse stakeholders and partners.

Qualifications

• College or university coursework in business management, public administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in community development, marketing, finance, economic development, or related field.
• Strong leadership and nonprofit/municipal governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the Downtown Development Authority, including supervision of staff and coordination of contracted services; establish workloads, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships.
• Lead the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans, goals, objectives, and priorities for the Downtown Development District, aligning programs with Board direction and community needs.
• Manage and participate in the development and administration of the annual Downtown Development Authority budget; coordinate budget approvals with City and Board; monitor expenditures within budgets.
• Facilitate redevelopment by building relationships with downtown property owners, developers, investors, and public partners to leverage resources and incentives.
• Direct and oversee complex planning efforts, catalyst projects, and grant-funded initiatives to align with plans, funding, and goals.
• Maintain accountability for organizational performance, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
