Job summary

Performix in the United States (El Paso, TX) is seeking a Downstream Planner for an onsite contract role. The position focuses on MRP control, supplier coordination, and production scheduling to ensure material readiness and optimal inventory levels.

Strong SAP experience and analytical problem-solving skills are required to optimize downstream flow. The candidate will engage with suppliers and internal teams, review forecasts, adjust planning parameters, and support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business.
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ERP / SAP, production scheduling and inventory management; SAP desirable.
• Technical/analytical/problem-solving skills with a solid materials management background.
• Adept at thinking on your feet, resolving conflicts and driving continuous improvement in downstream flow.
• Follows up to SAP Planning order exceptions and maintains production scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Process daily MRP exception messages.
• Manage flow of material between supplier and plant to ensure material availability for production and targets on inventory days.
• Expedite purchase orders with suppliers during shortages and crises.
• Monthly review of supplier forecasts.
• Review open orders with suppliers and update SAP purchase order due dates.

Job Title: Downstream Planner

Contract: 6 months (Strong possible extension)

Interviews: Teams video conference interviews. Possible face to face 2nd round

Job Responsibilities:

• Work daily MRP exception messages
• Manage flow of material between supplier and plant Ensure materials are available for production Meet the targets on days of inventory
• Expedite Purchase Order with supplier Crisis shortage provide priority to the supplier
• Monthly review of vendor forecast
• Review Open order report with supplier Update in SAP purchase orders due dates
• Review and adjust MRP planning parameters such as safety stock, minimum lot sizes, rounding values, pallet quantities, lead times, lot sizing procedures, etc.
• Quarterly review of the replenishment strategy Kanban, ROP or MRP
• Interfaces with MPS Planners and Production Scheduler

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ERP / SAP, production scheduling, and inventory management Experience working with SAP desirable

• Finished Good Production Scheduling. Publish Daily Production Plan
• Follow up of Production orders status and barriers
• Review with kitting if they are having issues with material
• Review if orders are converted in SAP, if not need to start converting planned orders to production orders
• Reviewing missing parts coming out in the release simulation to see if production could start working without them
• Create missing parts file and request to Upstream team the estimate arrival time
• Release orders and prepare them to production, separate them by assemblies
