Job Purpose
Operate downstream production machinery safely and efficiently, maintain appropriate documentation, and communicate ideas and problems to appropriate staff. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and downstream equipment changeovers, and produce best quality product. This position also requires performing the responsibilities of a Production Associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all downstream equipment to meet or exceed OEE expectations and customer quality expectations.
- Follow lock out/tag out policy, wear proper PPE, and adhere to GMP when entering production area.
- Operate fire extinguishers safely.
- Proactively address unsafe conditions and report all unsafe acts or conditions to the Shift Production Supervisor immediately.
- Participate in safety training as scheduled.
- Obey all machine guards and safety warnings.
- Produce and/or pack best quality product at all times; ensure all production meets or exceeds customer standards and expectations.
- Ensure all production is properly labeled and/or tagged.
- Place non‑conforming products on hold with proper documentation completed.
- Collect quality measurements and complete all quality checks in the NWA Quality Monitor or plant‑specific forms at scheduled intervals.
- Record raw material lot numbers as required and communicate out‑of‑specification conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as outlined by the plant PM program, addressing machine inefficiencies.
- Keep downstream equipment clean and in ‘showroom condition’ after maintenance, tagging components needing repair, replacement, or improvement per TPM guidelines.
- Address housekeeping issues on the production floor and equipment.
- Perform scheduled downstream production equipment changeovers using SMED procedures to limit downtime and ensure equipment is safe and efficient afterward.
- Maintain sufficient records for CMMS (MicroMain), including parts removed and inventory status; notify Maintenance Manager when inventory is low.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic data entry for all Micromain work orders; generate quick tickets for emergency repairs.
- Coordinate with Production Manager on production equipment training and employee development.
- Provide training topic suggestions and complete machine and task‑specific training within described timeframes.
- Communicate problems, progress reports, and continuous improvement ideas to management, maintenance, and production personnel.
- Participate in good housekeeping habits to ensure plant appearance meets or exceeds management and customer expectations, performing daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks per Master Cleaning Schedule and sanitization per Master Sanitization Schedule.
- Maintain clean work area, empty garbage cans, sweep/mop floors, clean equipment as needed, and organize work stations.
- Maintain accurate production reporting and participate in plant teams and activities related to safety, quality, sustainability, employee wellness, and continuous improvement.
- Take personal development actions: establish SMART goals, hold regular manager meetings, volunteer for improvement teams, seek additional training, and pursue higher education.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to pass entrance examinations and interviews.
- Sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation, and focus on continuous improvement.

Pay Range
$18.95 – $27.90 per hour.
