Job summary

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is seeking an Associate Manager of Manufacturing Downstream to lead daily 12-hour shift operations (7am–7pm) at our North Carolina site, guiding a cross-functional team of technicians in Recovery and Chromatography processing to meet site KPIs.

The role requires hands-on bioprocessing experience, GMP/EHS compliance, and mentorship across clinical and commercial production phases, with responsibility for schedules, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Chromatography techniques, UFDF systems and downstream single-use equipment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of CGMP and EHS regulations
• Understanding of production scheduling, planning, quality assurance practices and audit processes
• Understanding of equipment lifecycle management and technology transfer

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly operations including shift scheduling and task delegation.
• Oversee downstream chromatography and recovery operations.
• Execute production campaigns across pre-clinical to commercial batches.
• Ensure equipment and materials availability aligned with production schedules.
• Coordinate resources and facilitate cross-functional communication.
• Coach and mentor direct reports; drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure GMP/EHS/SOP compliance and participate in audits and investigations.
