Job summary

SunOpta is seeking a Downline Operator I at our Midlothian, TX plant to operate and learn packaging equipment, ensure quality and safety, and support maintenance and team communication. The role requires standing for long hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, and participating in a 12-hour day shift on a 2-2-3 pattern.

The ideal candidate will follow GMPs, perform quality checks, keep accurate records, and collaborate with a production team to maintain efficient operations and safe working conditions.

Qualifications

• Must follow GMPs and SOPs and maintain quality standards.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues.
• Strong record-keeping and ability to read and write clearly.
• Ability to work in a plant environment and stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work a 12-hour shift.
• Work 12-hour days and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and learn packaging line equipment including Cap Applicator, Cardboard Case Packer, and Accumulators.
• Monitor and fix faults, clear jams, and perform quality checks.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper paperwork.
• Support maintenance and mechanics, assist in equipment upkeep.
• Relieve team members for breaks and create smooth shift transitions.
• Communicate effectively with production team and other shifts.
