Job summary

SEF Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and testing of downhole tools and equipment. You will create and modify SolidWorks drawings, collaborate with senior engineers, and participate in design reviews.

Responsibilities include engineering calculations, testing procedure development, prototyping, and documentation. Occasional field travel and strict safety standards apply, with a background in mechanical engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient with SolidWorks for 3D part modeling and drawings.
• Innovative mindset with ability to devise new solutions for customer issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of oil and gas industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify part drawings and models in SolidWorks to execute engineering projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop downhole tools and components.
• Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct engineering calculations and analysis to ensure tool performance and reliability.
• Develop testing procedures and equipment under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist in prototyping, testing, and validating designs in lab and field environments.
• Prepare and revise engineering documentation for approval.
• Review domestic and international orders for engineering and quality requirements.
• Support manufacturing and field applications as requested.
• May travel to field locations 1–3 days at a time with a valid driver’s license.
