Job summary

RM Advisory Services LLC seeks a Functional / Management Analyst to support a DoW financial management and data analytics program in Alexandria. You will improve reporting, data quality, and financial management capabilities within the Advana environment, working with finance, accounting, and technical teams.

You will translate requirements into data, reporting, and system changes, with emphasis on financial statement preparation, consolidations, and modernization of reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Department of War financial management, accounting, financial reporting, or financial statement preparation/compilation.
• Working knowledge of federal and/or DoW financial reporting processes.
• Understanding of how accounting and transactional data flows from source systems through financial reporting processes.
• Experience analyzing financial data and researching reconciliation, reporting, or data-quality issues.
• Ability to translate financial and accounting requirements into functional, data, or system requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both financial management professionals and technical/data teams.

Responsibilities

• Support DoW financial reporting and financial statement compilation activities.
• Apply knowledge of DoW accounting, financial management, and reporting processes to identify reporting requirements and data issues.
• Analyze financial and transactional data supporting balances, disclosures, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Assist mapping of financial reporting requirements to source systems, data elements, and business rules.
• Translate accounting and reporting requirements into actionable system, data, dashboard, and reporting needs.
• Support reconciliation, validation, and research of financial data across multiple DoW systems.
• Identify data quality and reporting issues and help stakeholders develop solutions.
• Develop and document business processes, functional requirements, data requirements, and workflows.
