Doula & Partner Site Supervisor (Doula Supervisor)

Under the direction of the Home-Based Director, the Doula & Partner Site Supervisor (Doula Supervisor) is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Doula Services Program and providing supervision and support to the partner site Home Visiting program. The Doula Supervisor ensures that doulas deliver high-quality prenatal and postpartum services, while also monitoring and coaching home visiting staff at partner agencies for compliance, quality, and alignment with Early Head Start/Prevention Initiative (EHS/PI) standards.

This role is ideal for someone who has respect for children and families with diverse values and cultures and is passionate about achieving positive child and family outcomes through high-quality engagement.

This position is located at Easterseals Chicago Location at 1939 W 13th Street, Chicago, IL 60608.

Major Functions/Accountabilities
  • Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and reflective coaching for Doula staff, ensuring high-quality prenatal, birthing, and postpartum services to families.
  • Ensure that each Doula maintains an appropriate caseload (8–10 families annually) and that services align with EHS/PI guidelines.
  • Monitor Doula community -based and home visiting documentation, case notes, and ChildPlus data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide coverage and support in situations where a parent requests Doula services during labor and delivery, and the assigned Doula is unavailable or requires replacement.
  • Attend births and serve in the role of a doula, including being present in the delivery room when needed, to ensure continuous support to families. (includes available for overnight, weekend, and evening births as required to meet family needs).
  • Attend required Doula-based training courses with DONA and Start Early Trainings
  • Support Doulas when they attend births and act as a backup for Community – Based Doulas
  • Provide community education and outreach within the medical clinic/hospital communities as necessary, maintaining a positive relationship with community agencies and medical professionals
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to all agency protocols, documentation procedures, and confidentiality standards when providing direct Doula support.
  • Coordinate with the Doula team to ensure seamless communication and transition of responsibilities before and after delivery coverage.
  • Serve as the lead facilitator for prenatal groups, ensuring sessions are engaging, informative, and aligned with program goals and curriculum.
  • Oversee recruitment and outreach efforts to identify, engage, and enroll pregnant women into the program through active community partnerships, events, and targeted outreach strategies.
  • Support the implementation of linkage agreements with agencies interested in partnering with Easterseals to provide Doula services, fostering collaborative relationships, and expanding program reach.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to all agency protocols, documentation procedures, and confidentiality standards when providing direct Doula support.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for Doula staff in maternal health, family engagement, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Provide supervision and oversight to partner site in collaboration with Site Direct/Home Based Supervisor Home Visiting staff, ensuring fidelity to the Parents as Teachers curriculum and EHS/PI requirements.
  • Monitor and review partner site compliance, including lesson plans, family assessments, case notes, and PIR data collection.
  • Conduct site visits, reflective supervision sessions, and coaching to strengthen program quality.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to build consistency in family engagement, training, and data reporting.
  • Promote maternal health, positive parent-child interactions, and family well-being across both Doula and Home Visiting programs.
  • Support family goal setting and ensure families are connected to health, social services, and community resources.
  • Plan and support family engagement events, group socializations, and health education workshops at both direct service and partner sites.
  • Ensure Doula Services and partner site programs meet all Head Start, state, and funder requirements.
  • Oversee accurate and timely data entry in ChildPlus and other reporting systems.
  • Prepare program reports on service delivery, family outcomes, and compliance for internal leadership and external funders.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Public Health, Social Work, or related field.
  • Birth Doula trained with DONA or other Birth Doula equivalent training
Experience Required
  • Birth Doula experience and trained with DONA or other Birth Doula equivalent training
  • Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience in home visiting, doula services, maternal health, or early childhood programs.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, ISBE Parents as Teachers model, and family engagement best practices.
  • Bilingual ability (English/Spanish or English/Arabic) preferred
Vehicle/Transportation Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license.
