Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Double Bottom Dump Truck Driver (Materials) to transport aggregate and asphalt products to plants and job sites in a safe manner.

The position requires a Class A CDL with a doubles endorsement, a clean driving record, and a high school diploma or GED. Overtime and travel to various sites may be necessary, with a competitive pay of $28.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with doubles endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load material at aggregate plants and transport it to other plants or job sites.
• Keep the vehicle clean, including trailer spray when needed.
• Report maintenance or adjustments as required.
• Tarp loads when necessary to protect hauled product.
• Work flexible hours with potential overtime; travel to multiple locations.

Job Summary

The Double Bottom Dump Driver is responsible for the transporting of aggregate and asphalt products to plants and job sites in a safe manner.

Compensation

$28.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load material at aggregate plants and safely transport itto other plants or job sites
• Clean vehicle, including the spraying down of trailers when needed
• Report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required
• Tarp loads when needed to protect product being hauled
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours; overtime may be required
• Ability to travel to various work locations based on work availability and customer demand
• Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather

Education

High school diploma or GED

Requirements/Qualifications

• Class A commercial driver’s license with a doubles endorsement
• Safe driving record - No more than two moving violations within the past 24 months; No serious moving violations within the past 36 months
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred:

• Experience in aggregate or heavy construction industries
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
