Job summary

CalPortland is seeking an Aggregate Driver to haul aggregate with a multi-axle double-trailer in California. The role may include operating a concrete mixer truck as needed.

A thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspection routine, daily logkeeping, and close coordination with dispatch are essential. We offer a broad benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, EAP, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A driver’s license with clean driving record and doubles endorsement.
• Experience driving tractor with 2 trailer combination and mixer operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates an over-length Class A tractor and 2 trailer combination vehicles safely, obeying all traffic laws.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and communicates deficiencies to maintenance.
• Records daily trip/load logs as directed and communicates with dispatch daily.
• Makes adjustments to equipment and hauled materials (e.g., secure tarp and tailgate).
• Cleans rails and tailgate of debris; regularly washes vehicle exterior and maintains cleanliness.
• Follows DOT, OSHA, MSHA and CPC safety guidelines; reports incidents/injuries to management.
• Attends safety meetings as scheduled; may perform other related duties.
