CalPortland in California is hiring a Double Bottom Dump Driver to transport aggregate and asphalt products to plants and job sites safely. The role requires a Class A CDL with doubles endorsement and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Clean vehicle and tarp loads as needed.
• Report maintenance or adjustments needed.
• Travel to various work locations based on work availability and demand.
• Work flexible hours with potential overtime; exposure to extreme temperatures.

Compensation

$28.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Load material at aggregate plants and safely transport it to other plants or job sites
• Clean vehicle, including the spraying down of trailers when needed
• Report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required
• Tarp loads when needed to protect product being hauled
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours; overtime may be required
• Ability to travel to various work locations based on work availability and customer demand
• Can be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather

Education

High school diploma or GED

Requirements/Qualifications

• Class A commercial driver's license with a doubles endorsement
• Safe driving record - No more than two moving violations within the past 24 months; No serious moving violations within the past 36 months
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Strong customer service skills

Preferred

• Experience in aggregate or heavy construction industries
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
