About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic Agile team delivering an innovative Transportation Management System (TMS). This system streamlines and optimizes freight movement processes for enhanced operational efficiency. You will contribute to the development of cloud-native microservices and serverless applications, leveraging modern programming languages and AWS services.

This position offers an opportunity to work on a forward-thinking, backend-heavy architecture, with exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies, while collaborating remotely with a high-performing, cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using .NET Core, Go, and Python
• Build and support front-end interfaces using React (approximately 20% of the work)
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) principles throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and maintain code quality and development standards
• Implement automation tests and deploy applications in a CI/CD pipeline, with support from the DevOps team
• Engage in production support rotation for one week every six months
• Work with AWS cloud services for new development, enhancement, and cloud migrations
• Contribute to data processing tasks using AWS Glue or Spark, with optional use of Python for custom data pipelines
• Leverage and manage NoSQL databases such as DocumentDB and DynamoDB

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong backend focus
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following languages: .NET Core, Go, Python, Java, C#
• Proficiency with React for modern front-end development (Angular experience is not a substitute)
• Strong understanding and implementation of TDD and ATDD methodologies
• Proven experience in cloud-native development using AWS; familiarity with services such as EKS, Glue, Lambda, DynamoDB, DocumentDB
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Solid communication skills and a collaborative mindset to mentor peers and uphold development practices
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data processing frameworks like AWS Glue or Apache Spark
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (consulted by a dedicated DevOps team)
• Exposure to legacy 3-tier architectures and transitioning them to cloud-based systems
• Background in building and supporting microservices and serverless architectures
