MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville, NC is seeking a Foreman to lead a crew installing, maintaining, and repairing underground utility systems. You will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans and regulations, and prepare reports and timekeeping as needed.

The role requires CDL driving, leadership experience, and the ability to mentor apprentices while coordinating with project managers and subcontractors on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check and pre employment drug screening.
• Valid CDL Class A or B license and current DOT physical required.
• Previous underground power distribution experience and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of underground utility crew; interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies; conduct inspections and pre-task planning.
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, engineers and subcontractors; track productivity, timekeeping and materials used.
• Schedule equipment and material delivery to job sites; operate/oversee heavy equipment as needed; maintain records.

Position Summary

Position Summary Performs and manages a crew installing maintaining and repairing underground utility systems such as traffic signal fiber optic ITS and roadway lighting This role ensures work is completed safely efficiently and in compliance with project plans specifications and regulations The Foreman will also help train and develop apprentices on the job prepare reports submit timekeeping and job briefings as needed

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of underground utility crewInterpret construction drawings blueprints and specificationsEnsure compliance with safety procedures OSHA standards and company policiesConduct daily job site inspections and pre task planning to identify hazards and mitigate risksCoordinate with project managers inspectors engineers and subcontractorsTrack crew productivity timekeeping and materials usedSchedule equipment and materials delivery to job sitesOperate and oversee use of heavy equipment eg excavators trenchers backhoesPerform quality checks to verify proper depth slope alignment and compactionTrain mentor and evaluate crew members to ensure high performance and safetyMaintain detailed project records including daily reports and as built documentation

Requirements

• Must pass criminal background check and pre employment drug screeningValid Class A or B CDL license or permit and current valid DOT physical requiredPrevious experience in underground power distribution requiredPrevious leadership experience preferredSafe driving recordMust have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendanceMust be able to get along with fellow workers other tradesmen on the jobsite inspectors customers and the publicMust be able to carry up to 50 poundsSet an example with proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipmentDemonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools
