Job summary

Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a DOT and clinic technician to perform drug and alcohol testing and conduct screenings such as PFTs, audiograms and fit testing in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include directing patients and visitors, collecting and labeling specimens, entering data, managing chain of custody, handling inventory, and transporting specimens to designated locations while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency required.
• Experience with DOT or drug/alcohol testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and greet patients and visitors to meet their needs promptly.
• Receive calls, route messages, and manage mail.
• Collect and label specimens, document chain of custody, enter data into the system.
• Perform screenings (PFTs, audiograms, fit testing) per certifications.
• Transport specimens and supplies to on-site locations and back to the department.
• Complete inventory control and assist with billing as needed.
