Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a DOT Compliance Specialist in Memphis to oversee regulatory requirements, maintain driver files, and coordinate cross-functional processes across departments. The role emphasizes accuracy, adaptability, and sensitive conversations regarding compliance.

The candidate will monitor driver qualification files, manage licensing and monitoring systems, and ensure FMCSA, DOT, and Samsara-related compliance is up to date.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in DOT and transportation compliance preferred.
• Pass drug test, background check, and be fit for duty.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate regulatory complexities and conversations.

Responsibilities

• Review driver packets for missing information and contact branches.
• Create driver profiles in third-party license monitoring system.
• Run 3-year DOT employment verifications.
• Create driver Samsara profiles and manage hardware.
• Ensure drivers complete FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse queries.
• Audit Driver Qualification Files and coordinate documentation with branches.
• Deactivate inactive drivers in monitoring systems.
• Maintain billing for third-party license monitoring.
• DOT Incident Management: analyze CSA scorecard and report violations.
• Post-accident investigations and CMV compliance.
• HOS compliance.
• ELDT training provider registry maintenance.
• Assist other departments with fleet, sales, maintenance.
