Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, IA, is seeking a Dosimetrist to join our team. You will collaborate with the Medical Physicist to devise treatment plans and ensure accurate dose calculations and documentation.

Qualified candidates graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, with CMD certification within 6 months and ARRT(T) preferred. Up to 3 years of Medical Dosimetrist experience is preferred; commitment to patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• CMD certification within 6 months or pursuing.
• ARRT(T) Radiation Therapy Registry preferred.
• Up to 3 years of Medical Dosimetrist experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Devise a treatment plan to deliver prescribed dose with the Medical Physicist collaboration.
• Perform dose calculations and record data accurately on charts and forms.
• Instruct technical staff in implementing the treatment plan.
• Assist in planning beam-modifying devices with the Medical Physicist.
• Assist in selecting and evaluating supply requests for radioactive materials or equipment.

How You'll Contribute

A Dosimetrist who excels in this role:

• Devises a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver the prescribed dose to a defined tumor volume in collaboration with the medical physicist.
• Performs dose calculations and assures complete, accurate, and timely recording of all data on all charts and forms.
• Instructs the technical staff in the implementation of the treatment plan.
• Assists in planning of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, blocks, and other beam modifying devices in collaboration with the Medical Physicist.
• Assists in the selection and evaluation of purchase requests involving radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduated from accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• Licenses/Certifications: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) (within 6 months); ARRT (T) Radiation Therapy Registry (Preferred)
• Maximum Work Experience: 3 years as Medical Dosimetrist (Preferred)
