Job summary

DAWSON seeks a Housekeeper Lead to supervise routine cleaning in FLETC dormitories and ensure rooms meet hygiene standards. The role includes inspecting rooms, supporting a safe environment for students and staff, and enforcing PWS requirements on a 07:30–16:30 schedule.

The position requires at least 6 months in housekeeping, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and successful background screening. On-site Charleston, SC location with full-time employment and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of housekeeping or custodial experience in a dormitory, hotel, or institutional setting.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and performing repetitive motions.
• Must pass background screening and meet all FLETC access and conduct requirements.
• This position may require operation of Company-provided vehicles with valid driver’s license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for incoming students.
• Clean rooms after departure of outgoing students.
• Clean and disinfect dormitory rooms, restrooms, and shared areas.
• Change bed linens and restock toiletries.
• Make beds in occupied rooms when needed.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize surfaces per schedule.
• Notify dorm clerks or supervisors of maintenance or supply issues.
• Maintain supply carts and follow cleaning routes and safety protocols.
• Do not move students’ personal items; leave a note if blocked services.
• Turn in reports as required by managers.
• Lead inspections to pass/fail rooms per PWS.
