Glenmont Job Corps Center is looking for a caring, dependable, and confident Dorm Supervisor to join our team!

The Dorm Supervisor helps oversee the day-to-day operation of our student dormitories. Think of this role as a combination of team leader, mentor, coach, and problem-solver. You'll supervise residential staff while helping our students learn responsibility, independence, healthy habits, and the life skills they need for their future.

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM
Days Off: Friday & Saturday

What Does a Dorm Supervisor Do?

Our students live on center while completing their education and career training. The Dorm Supervisor helps make sure their residential experience is safe, structured, positive, and supportive.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead the residential team — Support, guide, and supervise staff who work directly with students in the dorms.
  • Mentor young adults — Build positive relationships with students and encourage them as they work toward their personal, educational, and career goals.
  • Create a positive living environment — Help keep the dorms safe, clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Teach everyday life skills — Encourage students to develop responsibility, independence, good habits, communication skills, and confidence.
  • Help solve problems — Respond to student or staff concerns calmly, fairly, and professionally.
  • Work as part of the student support team — Partner with counselors and other departments to help students overcome challenges and stay on track.
  • Build a strong dorm community — Encourage respect, teamwork, accountability, and positive relationships among students.
  • Maintain standards — Conduct dorm inspections, follow center policies, and make sure residential expectations are being met.
Most importantly, you'll help create a place where students feel supported while learning how to become successful, independent adults.

You don't need to come from one specific career background to make an impact in this role. Experience working with young adults, residential programs, education, workforce development, mentoring, or similar environments can help prepare you for success.

Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of Job Corps experience OR related experience in youth development, residential services, education, workforce development, or a similar program
Preferred
  • Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid in-state driver's license
Why Join Glenmont Job Corps?

At Glenmont Job Corps Center, the work you do matters.

Our students are building their futures, and sometimes the encouragement, structure, accountability, and guidance they receive outside of the classroom can make all the difference.

As a Dorm Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team while directly influencing the growth and success of young adults.

Purposeful work — Know that what you do each day can make a difference in a student's life.

Teamwork — Work alongside professionals who share the goal of helping students succeed.

Professional growth — Strengthen your leadership, supervisory, mentoring, and youth-development skills.

Mentorship opportunities — Help young adults build confidence, independence, and skills they can carry into adulthood.

A chance to shape futures — Be part of the support system that helps students move from where they are today toward where they want to be tomorrow.
