Flanigan's Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Prep Cook to organize prep work and support daily kitchen operations. You will prep, stock, and set up stations, ensuring products are rotated and ready for service.

You must read recipes, communicate clearly, and operate kitchen equipment safely. The role requires physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs and work a five-day schedule with possible nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow food safety standards.
• Experience with prep work and line cooking is needed.
• Ability to read recipes and food labels.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Five-day work week with two consecutive days off.
• Must be 21+ to enroll in 401K.

Responsabilités

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Prepares menu items according to Flanigan’s recipe manual and plate presentation.
• Ensures rotation of all products and maintains par levels.
• Completes assigned prep work and stocks stations.
• Transports items to and from the kitchen and assists with deliveries.
• Cleans and maintains the kitchen area; breaks down stations at close.
• Communicates ticket times, manages food flow, and reports issues to the manager on duty.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely (grill, stove, slicer).
• Works in high temperature, damp environments; may be outdoors minimally.
• Assists with dishwashing and cleaning as needed.

Prep Cooks make the world go round. You’re responsible for organizing everything in advance and during service, to make the kitchen really hum. You strive for an efficient, well-oiled machine, and that’s exactly what the kitchen is, thanks to your prep. Everything from chopping, breaking down, cutting, weighing, mixing, washing, storing, unloading, readying - you play a vital role in the kitchen’s day-to-day routine.

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Prepares menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentation
• Ensures rotation of all products and stocks products to par level, to ensure kitchen is not disrupted
• Helps complete assigned prep work, to stock and set up stations as necessary
• Transports items to and from kitchen, helps Vendor unload delivery trucks
• Cleans and maintains kitchen area throughout shift
• Breaks down and cleans all stations at closing
• Able to work flexible shift schedule which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Can physically stand/walk 100 % of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Able to read recipes and food labels
• Able to read POS ticket orders
• Communicates ticket times, executes food flow from kitchen to guests, and reports potential issues to Manager on duty
• Able to safely use kitchen machinery (Open Flame Grill, Stove, Slicer, etc)
• Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
• Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
• Ability to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods of time
• Work in high temperature, damp environment indoors and minimally outdoors
• Assist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning, as needed
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Five (5) Day Work Week, with Two (2) Consecutive Days Off
• Paid Vacation One Week after Year One, Two Weeks after Two Years, and Three Weeks after Ten Years
