Job summary

Active Day in Berea, OH seeks drivers to operate mobility buses, escort members door-to-door, and provide timely transport to and from our centers. You will assist with on- and off-boarding, medical appointments, and field trips, while maintaining safety and vehicle readiness.

We value a positive attitude, clear communication, and a dependable work ethic. Training for certifications like CPR/First Aid may be provided; prior driver experience is preferred but not required, and a flexible schedule

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age 21.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Experience with seniors or special needs preferred.
• Flexible schedule required.
• DOT exam and background checks required.
• Knowledge of local geography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and follow maintenance and fueling schedule.
• Routinely exchange recommendations with coworkers for best practices in accommodations and transport.
• Assist members with on- and off-boarding and with any special needs during transport.
• Confirm members are secured in vehicle and transported on time.
• Maintain vehicle information (route, mileage, fuel, service records).
• Maintain and secure company property (vehicle, phone, fuel cards).
• Communicate professionally with members, families, coworkers, referral agencies, and the community.
• Deliver information to family members as requested.
• Report issues or unusual occurrences to lead driver or coordinator.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
• Assist coordinator/director in identifying operational efficiencies for member experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
