Job summary

Owens Corning is hiring for a door spray-painter role in Lawrenceville, GA. The position involves setting up the production line, applying finishes with spray equipment, and ensuring quality results through careful inspection and maintenance of tools.

Responsibilities include door preparation, painting, staining, drying, and final coating; working from guidelines under supervision, with overtime as needed. On-site work with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting.
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred not required.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• General knowledge of paint equipment such as paint guns and paint applications.
• Ability to efficiently use air/hand tools to paint product, ability to read/understand humidity chart and produce quality work.
• Operate pneumatic paint tools and accessories.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to stand and work for 8-10 hours per day.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to organize and maintain detailed records.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task.
• Read tape measure to 1/32 inch.
• Ability to lift to 50+lbs.
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential.
• Follow all operational and safety SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Assists in any phase of Production Shop operation.
• Preparing doors for spraying stage.
• Clean door of dust before staining primer.
• Be capable of reading and understanding technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, and maintaining sprayer equipment as required.
• Applies paint, varnishes, and stains to interior and/or exterior door surfaces.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Stain and wipe doors of excess.
• Place doors into oven to dry.
• Finish doors by spraying clear coat.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Housekeeping duties including all forms of warehouse cleanup.
• Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
• Ability to service and perform regular PM on the paint guns and paint booth, replace parts and filters.
• Measure and count products and materials.
• Other duties as assigned
