Job summary

HGA is seeking an Openings Specialist to lead door hardware specifications across diverse projects. You will create complex hardware specs, maintain master guide guidelines, and coordinate with project teams to meet life safety, accessibility, and design intent.

You will provide technical guidance, stay current with industry standards, and collaborate with clients and facilities managers to determine hardware requirements for facilities. This role emphasizes quality and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Technical or Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, architecture, or similar.
• 3 years of experience with a technical degree or 5 years in a door hardware consulting or related role.
• AHC or DHI certification preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication across clients, facilities staff, and internal teams.
• Advanced problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple, complex project scopes.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare door hardware specifications for complex projects including large multi‑phase or high‑security work.
• Maintain and refine the firm’s master guide door hardware specifications.
• Review and coordinate hardware specifications with drawings and design intent.
• Review door hardware submittals during construction administration and coordinate revisions.
