Job summary

HGA is seeking a Door Hardware Openings Specialist in the San Jose area to lead development and coordination of hardware specifications across diverse project types. You will prepare complex hardware specs, refine master specifications, and collaborate with project teams to ensure life safety, accessibility, and design requirements are met.

The role provides technical leadership through design and construction, ensuring quality documentation and specification accuracy.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical or Bachelors degree in construction engineering, management, architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years with a technical degree or 5+ years in door hardware consulting or related industry.
• AHC or DHI certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare door hardware specifications for complex projects, including large, multi-phase, high-security works.
• Maintain and refine the firm’s master door hardware specifications.
• Review and coordinate hardware specs with drawings and design intent; review submittals during construction.
