Job summary

HGA seeks a Door Hardware Openings Specialist to lead hardware specifications for diverse projects in the U.S. You will develop complex hardware specifications, maintain master guide specs, and collaborate with project teams on life-safety, accessibility, and code compliance.

The role provides technical leadership through design and construction, ensuring high-quality documentation and alignment with project intent. Strong communication and multi-project management are essential.

Qualifications

• You will need to have a technical or bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, architecture, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience with a technical degree or 5+ years in a door hardware consulting or related role.
• AHC or DHI certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication across clients, facilities staff, and internal teams.
• Advanced problemsolving skills and ability to manage multiple complex project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare door hardware specifications for complex projects across multiple phases and high-security applications.
• Maintain and refine the firm’s master guide door hardware specifications.
• Review hardware specifications with drawings and design intent; coordinate revisions.
• Review door hardware submittals during construction administration; coordinate revisions.
