Job summary

William & Mary’s University Advancement, CDSP Development team seeks a Development Associate to provide administrative and programmatic support for donor stewardship, engagement, fundraising communications, and board relations. The hybrid role in Williamsburg collaborates with CDSP leadership, faculty, staff, and donors to advance fundraising priorities and steward meaningful donor experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong administrative support abilities and ability to interpret and communicate policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with discretion when interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based tools.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with donor stewardship and engagement activities aligned to CDSP fundraising priorities.
• Coordinate donor recognition, impact reports, and stewardship materials.
• Draft and proofread donor-facing communications for development leadership.
• Support donor stewardship reports and compile content showing philanthropic impact.
• Coordinate donor visits, events, and scheduling, including logistics and briefing materials.
• Support engagement with university-wide fundraising initiatives (Homecoming, Charter Day, One Tribe One Day).
• Prepare reports and updates for advisory boards and development leadership.
• Maintain accurate donor, event, and stewardship records and generate engagement reports.
