Job summary

Oklahoma Blood Institute in Ada, OK is seeking a Mobile Operations Manager to lead and optimize mobile blood collection operations. You will direct supervisors and donor services staff to meet collection, quality, financial, compliance, and customer service goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a medical or management-related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience; blood banking experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to track and analyze data, identify trends, and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to managers, supervisors, and donor services staff.
  • Oversee daily mobile blood collection operations and ensure staffing levels meet operational needs.
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, employee development, counseling, and termination decisions.
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve productivity and quality.
  • Manage staffing schedules and ratios to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary overtime.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that supports teamwork, engagement, and employee retention.
  • Ensure an exceptional donor experience at every mobile blood drive.
  • Address and resolve donor concerns and staff performance or behavioral issues professionally and diplomatically.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate organizational changes, provide updates, and recognize outstanding performance.
  • Oversee materials and equipment operations, including maintenance, calibration, quality control, and annual preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor collection goals, including whole blood collections, automation rates, and whole-blood conversion data.
  • Partner with recruitment teams to ensure collection projections and operational goals are met.
  • Analyze data and develop strategies to increase automated collections and overall productivity.
  • Monitor inventory and collection instructions and communicate operational needs.
  • Manage and rotate staff on-call responsibilities.
  • Work with the Executive Director to prepare and manage the annual department budget and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: Competitive salary based on education and/or experience plus $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!
