Job summary

Intermountain Deaconess Children's Services is seeking a Donor Relations & Stewardship Specialist in Helena, MT. The role will handle daily gift processing, donor communications, and hospitality for donors and guests throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of college or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience in nonprofit settings is a plus, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Completion of two or more years of college or equivalent experience, including administrative, coordinator, customer service, hospitality, or related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming, service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily gift processing including database entry, documentation, deposits, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications with strong business writing.
  • Provide hospitable engagement for donors, guests, and partners across the year.
  • Support guest hospitality at events and improve guest experience while handling multiple priorities.
  • Assist development operations through office coordination and special projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily gift processing including accurate database record entry, documentation, deposits, and financial reconciliation.
  • Prepare timely, professional donor acknowledgments, stewardship communications, and donor mailings, applying strong business writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Provide warm, attentive hospitality and engagement for donors, guests, community members, and partners throughout the year, both at Intermountain and while representing the organization in the community.
  • Play a key role in guest hospitality at Intermountain events, identifying ways to improve the guest experience while comfortably managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support Development operations through office and administrative coordination, communications, special projects, and other activities that help the department operate effectively and achieve its goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of two or more years of college or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including at least one year of administrative, coordinator, customer service, hospitality, or related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a genuine enjoyment of working with people, and a welcoming, service-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a nonprofit, hospitality, events, fundraising, or mission-driven environment.
  • Experience with donor databases, Canva, social media management, or other communications and design tools.
