Job summary

Coastal Community Foundation in Beaufort, SC is seeking a Philanthropic Advising Officer to cultivate donor relationships and provide strategic philanthropic guidance. You will manage a portfolio of fundholders, align giving with community needs, and collaborate across departments to grow charitable assets in Coastal South Carolina.

The role emphasizes donor service excellence, stewardship of fund activity, and active engagement with regional donors across Beaufort, Hampton, Jasper and Colleton

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of five years in philanthropy, fundraising, donor relations, or related field.
• Experience with high-net-worth individuals, families, and community leaders preferred.
• Knowledge of donor-advised funds and planned giving strongly preferred.
• Professional credentials such as CFRE, CAP®, CFP®, CPA, JD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of fundholders and donors.
• Provide personalized philanthropic advising aligned with donor interests and Foundation priorities.
• Develop cultivation, engagement, stewardship, and solicitation strategies to deepen giving.
• Guide donors through conversations and opportunities to maximize impact.
• Coordinate donor meetings, site visits, and educational experiences.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver an exceptional donor experience.
• Maintain donor records and ensure alignment with fund agreements and policies.
• Support fundraising planning, moves management, and donor recognition activities.
