Job summary

Tacoma Rescue Mission is seeking a Development Officer to grow our donor portfolio, coordinate campaigns, and steward partnerships with volunteers and staff. You will identify prospects, conduct solicitations, and help implement TRM’s development plan to sustain services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in nonprofit fundraising, strong communication, and solid project management. This full-time, on-site role is at the Downtown Tacoma Campus, Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm, with some

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of nonprofit fund development experience.
• Experience with face-to-face donor solicitation and fundraising with an emphasis on relationship building is highly desired.
• Ability to problem solve, take initiative, and think strategically and creatively.
• Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment.
• Access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations, for functions relevant to this position.

Responsibilities

• Proactively reaches out to an assigned portfolio of partners.
• Actively manages portfolio through regular cultivation meetings, in-person solicitations, and stewardship activities.
• Advises Director of Development in matters related to partner development.
• Engages in TRM’s comprehensive campaign and development plan.
• Engages in event attendance and marketing.
• Tracks and reports relationship management activity using donor management software.
• Participates in regular Community Engagement and organization wide meetings.
