Job summary

CSL Plasma in Memphis is seeking qualified health professionals to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, and interviewing donors with medical histories to determine suitability.

The role supports the Center Medical Director, responds to medically related questions, and reviews test results to assess continued donor eligibility, counseling donors on reactive findings and referring them for follow-up as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments per licensure
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability and answer medically related questions
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability and assess donor symptoms
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer them for follow-up
• Provide routine care following SOPs and escalate critical situations to Center Physician or local medical services
